Cambodia’s flying start to the China Asean Invitational Basketball Tournament may yet receive a blow as head coach Austin Koledoye is about to leave the team for another mission to Vietnam. Cambodia defeated Macao in the opening Group B match on Tuesday 77-65 and are due to take on China Guangxi later tonight which may be the last match Coach Austin my handle before returning to Cambodia to lead his School team to a volleyball championship in Vietnam.

The Cambodian Contingent to the 26th SEA games in Indonesia Yesterday received a major boost from Mobile Phone Operators Smart Mobile. The Chief Executive Officer of the Telcom giant Mr. Thomas Hundt announced a Gold sponsorship of the National Olympic Committee SEA Games Farewell Gala Dinner to the tune of 3000 USD. In addition to the financial support, Smart Mobile also pledged to award Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists with Sim Packages with loaded Credit for a Year.

Cambodia started off the blocks in the 2011 China-Asean Invitational Tournament with a win over their counterparts from Macao 77-65 in the opening game of the Eleven Team (nine Nation) Tournament taking place in the Nanning City of Guangxi, China.

During my second month in Cambodia back in September 2009 a Khmer friend invited a few people to spend the weekend in Svey Rieng province where she is from . An extremely sleepy place which warrants only 1 short paragraph in the lonely planet saying it is one of the poorest provinces and there is nothing to do. We were invited to stay at her Grandmother’s house and had visions of sleeping on the ground and washing in the well outside wearing a sarong. We drove in a minibus and had to cross the Mekong on a ferry on which we enjoyed taro ice-creams and lots of curious stares.

CHINA -ASEAN Invitation Tournament: Cambodia In Group B, takes on Macau in Opening Game

Cambodia National basketball Team will take on Macau Tuesday,in their opening game of the China-Asean basketball Invitational Tournament in Nanning City in the Province of Guangxi, China.

The Cambodian team left the Kingdom on Sunday Afternoon aboard a china Eastern Airline arrived Nanning after a 5 hours transit in Guanzhou late on Sunday Night.

Cambodia is drawn in Group B along with Macau, China Guangxi, Vietnam Hanoi, and Chinese Taipei. Group A comprise of Host China Pingguo, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore and Myammar.

Cambodia to send Record Delegation to Jarkata SEA games

Cambodia will be sending a Strong contingent of 230 Athletes and Officials to the 26th SEA Games coming up in November 2012. The NOCC Secretary General, Mr. Vath Chamroeun made this known earlier last week following the clearance of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia’s proposal by the Royal government.

Cambodia shrugged off their defeat of Friday Night to bounce back with a victory over the Ho chi minh City Basketball team in the Second Game of the 2-Game Friendly match on Saturday Night finishing 95-81.

The Cambodian National basketball team let a 12 points lead slip off to go down 74-77 to the Ho chi Minh City Basketball team in a Pre-SEA games Friendly Encounter on Friday afternoon.

The Game which is the first of two games organized by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia as part of the Team Support for the 26th South East Asian Games to be held in Jarkata next month kicked of at around 5pm at the indoor hall of the national sports Complex.

The first BarCamp was held in 2005 in Palo Alto, CA. Since then it has quickly spread around the world and 22-23 October Cambodia will be hosting its fourth BarCamp at the University of Puthisastra.

They are open, participatory workshop-events, the content of which is provided by participants. Typically centered around tech subjects such as Open Source Technologies and Cyber-Security it is nonetheless an unconference with a variety of subjects being presented, completely up to those interested in participating.
