Rental accommodation over the river in Wat Puthyaram area?

Hi

I'm returning to live in PP in October and am thinking about finding a rental place (1 or 2 bedroom) over the river near Snow's (but not on the river front, as I'd like to avoid disappearing into the Tonle Sap during a heavy downpour). Kind of near Wat Puthyaram.

I'm interested in people's opinions of the area and of any contacts who can help me find somewhere appropriate.

I know areas over there are subject to flooding. I've heard rumours its one of the "unsafer" areas for barangs at night. Is this something I genuinely need to be wary of? I'm female and there is a chance I'll be living alone. Thoughts please?

P.S. I imagine the rental prices are significantly cheaper than some other areas of PP, simply because it's over the river. If anyone can give an indication of what to expect for different prices, I'd appreciate it.

thanks

hello again, just wondering if the 57 views were made by others interested in living in that area?

No replies?

Anyone live over there already?

If you are aware of these facts I would suggest that you avoid the area.
A single female should be looking at secure areas where several expats live.

IMO the area nears Snows is great for a drink and daytime strolls, and most likely safe at night, however maybe not as a single female.
Same as any capital city, there are areas where ya need to be careful.

Thanks... as I say, only heard rumours. Was not sure if it was fact.

(Must I live near other expats?? lol).

Perhaps if I got a big DOG, it'd be ok?

Ok, well, unless a few people tell me the rumours are untrue, I'll scupper the idea of living over the river.

Thanks for replying.
