I have two rooms available in a house renovated to Western standards that is fully furnished, including pots/pans and crockery in the shared kitchen. Included is 24-hour security surveillance and alarm. Free wifi throughout the house and electricity (for reasonable A/C use) are included in the rental price. Rental starts 1 February 2017. You'll be living with three others, but primarily with one permanent tenant. Two of us (one American researcher, one American agri-business person) are only in Cambodia for a few weeks out of the year. The permanent resident and house manager is an English & French-speaking Cambodian researcher, male, age 25. Except the bedrooms, you have full access to the house, including an air-conditioned office space downstairs, a huge rooftop terrace with shared laundry, the Western kitchen, and two lounge spaces. You can park as many bicycles and motos indoor as necessary, but car parking requires negotiation.

Perched at the end of a quiet dead-end street abutting a small breezy pond with banana and tamarind trees, this row-house is a quiet oasis in the bustling city. Featuring 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, hot water, air-con, as well as a furnished air-con office on the ground floor. Has 1-2 indoor parking spaces (depending on motos/bikes). You can both work and live here in comfort.

On this quiet residential road, you neighbor middle-class Khmer families with children and a few Europeans. GREAT jogging area, clean air. Khmer shops and food around the corner, and a short bicycle ride to 4 bakeries, organic vegetable shop, mini-markets and the local fresh market. The Chroy Changvar riverside is 4 minutes away with a French cafe, Sushi restaurant, al fresco restaurants, as well as the newly opened Sokha Hotel (including 5 restaurants). Towards Phnom Penh, it is 5 minutes across the river and an additional 5 minutes to the Phnom Penh riverside and Wat Phnom areas.

The house is structured with a airy atrium ground floor with big windows looking out to the pond and a winding wood stair-case to the mezzanine level. On the ground floor you will find the air-con office and lounge area, a guest bathroom, as well as the the open kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is open-air with an island, and equipped with modern gas burner, full-size electric oven, and dishwasher as well as pantry and cupboards.

The upper floors feature bedroom and living space, as well as two balconies. The mezzanine has one master bedroom and a smaller bedrooms (with balcony), all with exterior windows and views. The first floor has two bedrooms (one with air-con, all with hot water) and a beautiful master bedroom with open-brick wall to the en-suite bathroom, as well as views to the pond and Phnom Penh skyline. The first floor also features a lounge and television area with refrigerator, as well as a large balcony.

The rooftop terrace has been beautifully re-designed with functionality, safety and relaxation in mind. With 270 degree views, including the Phnom Penh skyline, both riversides of the Tonle Sap, it is a breezy and beautiful place to enjoy, day or night. In the evening, custom lighting allows for romantic or well-lit events. Furnishings include patio furniture and a few low-maintenance potted plants. A small secure area features a clothes washer, sink, and even a urinal.
