The 2 yr old son of a friend was attacked in the face by a monkey at Wat Phnom last weekend-- he's bruised and shaken but ok-- the monkey missed his eye by millimeters. The child was simply walking up the stairs and the monkey came out of nowhere--no food, no provocation at all.
Just thought people need to know about things like this-- very scary indeed. I would think twice about walking around there at all.
Must be in something in the air. Hope the boy will be OK.

A CHINESE monkey trainer was left red-faced after his group of performers turned on him using martial arts and sticks.
arLo Wung, 42, had taught the monkeys taekwondo as part of their routine, The Sun reports.
But when Mr Wung accidently slipped, his monkeys took advantage and decked him with a kick to the head.
According to The Sun, the gang then swarmed over their master. One monkey even managed to grab a stick to wack him.
terrrible. I've seen it happen to a khmer woman who was sitting on a bench chatting with another woman. Suddenly one of the adult monkeys jumped on the bench and bit the woman's arm. Luckily she was khmer, as she was wearing long sleeves on a lovely hot day. So although she was bruised, it did not break the skin.
I hope the child is ok.
I used to live over there and was always on the lookout for monkeys. We lived on the 2nd story and would often see groups of them scurrying around the rooftops. I made a face at one and he charged me. My gf got spooked by one at night and ended up tumbling down the steps, hurting her ankle badly.
