Knife wielding kid just tried to cut me a new one on Riverside.

So I just went out side on a bit of a DVD hunt. (I was trying to find a film called Idiocracy).
Any way I was stood in one of my usual DVD shops on the river and as I'm looking some Book selling kid comes in trying to hit me up for some change.
Now I'm not into giving cash to kids in the street because I don't think its going to help anything.
So I tell him no good.
Anyway I thought he left so I carry on looking.
Turns out the kid ain't gone. he's right behind me and lets me know he's still there by shooting me repeatedly in the back of the legs with a pellet gun.
Naturally I ain't into it.
So I spin round and grab the gun from out of his hands.
The kids giving it "give me my gun back"
so I'm like "You need to apologise and until you do you don't get it back"
The kid's like "f*** you I kill you" And walks out the shop.
A few moments later he's back in brandishing a 6 inch kitchen knife "I kill you" goes this kid as he comes at me. I don't reckon he actually meant it, he was probably just giving it the big un but just to be safe I twisted his arm up a little bit and took the knife of him pushing him to the floor in the process.
Worst thing is the DVD shop ain't even got Idiocracy. Proper let down.
I mean I've had beef with these Book kids before but this is my most extreme case yet.
Did you give his gun back?
Nar his Brother came into the shop took the gun outside and smashed it in the street.
Then he rubbed the kids face in it and the whole family gave him a kick in the arse.
Great for tourism. That is the main reason I don't go to eat at the riverside restaurants anymore, begging kids.

any idea if he was a newbie, or one of the regulars? One in particular has been on a path of self destruction (and likely to do this)... wondering it it was him.
Yeah I know exactly who you are talking about and I have slapped in the head more than once for beating on smaller kids stealing phones etc. Little shithead.

To be fair I've had run ins with a few of them kids.
I know the one you're on about but he wasn't this kid this time.
I think his mum works at the coffin shop between the 2 DVD shops near 144/140.
Yeah that other kid gave me some jive about having to give him money or get out of his country.
He in fact told me to go back to Australia.
I've never even been to Australia.

so it was the kid who's mum owns the coffin shop? and his dad's a motodop (apart from other things, obviously)? he's always been ok.
or the kid who has a sister? he's a bit moody.
I've found the brother/sister pair fairly harmless.
But I have been aggressively harassed by other boys on the Riverside - trying to trip me up, walking into me deliberately etc.
Along with the tuk tuks & moto drivers, one of the reasons I too give Riverside a miss these days.
(And there was a gunfight there outside Metro last year.)
All that it takes is a good ass beating in front of all of them so they can see we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore. Today's book selling punk is tomorrows Lexus driver.throwing bricks at you.
Nah, those kids selling books will only ever become motodops, tuk tuk drivers or drug dealers.
At least the boys will, the girls will mostly likely become prostitutes.
