1:55am Philippine time, Saturday Oct 3rd. No new weather update available at this time. For now Angeles City area is just light rain and no wind. A slightly weaker Typhoon Pepeng (international codename Parma) continues to slow down and has shifted course slightly, threatening to make landfall in Northern Cagayan instead of Aurora-Isabela by Saturday evening, weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.

PAGASA chief weather forecaster Nathaniel Cruz said the typhoon hit its maximum strength of 195 kilometers per hour while at sea but has weakened slightly.

Cambodia jails Aussie over drugs

Simon Peter Conway, 50, was convicted of drug-trafficking in a trial yesterday and sentenced to six years and a $2625 fine, Judge Chan Madina said today.

Conway was arrested in October at Phnom Penh airport after authorities found 40g of the drug with him.

his lawyer, Dun Vibol, said he already filed an appeal against the sentence.

"Conway confessed everything during the trial. But we want his sentence to be reduced to the minimum," he said.

Conway had intended to take the drug to Australia to use as a painkiller for a leg injury.

Her parents were rescued from poachers in Cambodia and now Maly -- pronounced 'Mahlee' -- is the lastest addition to the Perth Zoo sun bear menagerie.

The inquisitive 13-week-old cub this week wowed zoo keepers when she started to climb on her own. More stunning sun bear pictures

Maly, which translates as "blossom" in Cambodia -- where her parents are from -- weighed just 406grams when she was born. She remained tucked away in a birthing den with mum Bopha for the first three months of her life.
