To Call Korea From Overseas

Example for calling mobile phone numbers in Korea:

Local mobile number 011 5555 5555 or 016 5555 5555 or 010 5555 5555 Dial + 82 Korea country code then 11 5555 5555. Remember to drop the "0" from the front of the area code.

Example for calling land line (fixed phone) numbers in Korea:

Local number 02 799 5555
Dial + 82 Korea country code then the area code (see above) then the number remembering to drop the zero e.g. + 855 2 799 5555

When calling a Korea number from overseas, after the international code, then the country code (Korea is 82), you have to drop the "0" from the front of the area code.

Calling locally

Mobile to mobile just dial the mobile number e.g. 010 5555 5555 to 018 5555 5555 From Mobile to land line you MUST include the local area code.

E.g. calling from mobile 011 5555 5555 to a fixed phone in Seoul 02 799 555 5555 you MUST dial the 02 plus the number.

Land line to land line

Within Seoul there is no need to dial the 02, just dial the number.
