META HOUSE was conceived as an overall artistic environment, incorporating the talents of diversity of artists from around the globe. Spanning a range of talents, from lighting and gardening to creation of both fixed and fluid works of art, each individual artist leaves a footprint and the possibility of a point of departure for the next.
Our artist-in-residence program provides a stimulating atmosphere designed to work on several levels. Exhibitions and installations are generally brought into being on the ground floor of our facility, a large, open room which flows into a sculpted garden. Intermediate floors are given over to display of student works, the results of workshops, as well as fluctuating installations and the interplay in between. Also on display is our private collection of paintings from our private collection, of both Khmer and international origin.
The top floor of META HOUSE, a mainly outdoor space, offers a series of video screens and monitors, on which simultaneous screenings of a wide range of documentaries and video productions can be observed within close proximity of a bar stocking a variety of refreshing beverages. This floor also offers an environment for conversation, an interactive and international meeting of minds, as well as an atmosphere for romance, where one can watch a storm roll in or the stars in a moonlit sky.
