Boating

Boat trip can be arranged on Nam Ngum Lake about 80km to the north of Vientiane.
Canoeing and Kayaking on the Mekong can be a great way to spend the day, however consider heading up one of the smaller rivers such as Vang Vieng which will take you through some spectacular caves just don't forget your flashlight.

Bicycles

Many hotels rent out bikes for a small fee. You can travel all over Laos by bike and it is one of the most enjoyable ways to see Laos.

Tennis

Coaching is available, as is the hire of rackets and balls. Use of the court for one hour costs USD60 cents. Drinks and refreshments are available.
