The “Hae Bang Chon May Fest: Celebrating Music, Art and Life,” will run from about 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., with Phillies kicking things off with solo acoustic acts. The VFW will host full bands and Ssen will feature acoustic bands, duos and trios. L.R.D. Band will4-2.jpg officially close things down at VFW, though Ssen will stay open into the wee hours.
“The bar owners all love music and they love the fact that their patrons come and have a fantastic time in their bars. This is their way of saying thank you,” Reegan-Diehl says.
While the smell of burgers and sausages being grilled outside of the bars will get people to come closer, it will be the music that inevitably yanks them in the door and thrusts a beer in their hand.
As it is a relatively quiet neighborhood, Reegan-Diehl adds as a reminder, they try to keep it out of the streets and inside the pubs.
Some of the two dozen acts confirmed for the HBC May Fest are: L.R.D. Band, International Goat Breeders, Yvon Malenfant, Two Guitars, The Bellows, 40 Days, Mississippi Dave, Seth Martin, Dave Gwyther, Spiritual Hustlers, Kimchi Cowboys, Darren Mullins, Johnny Red Solo, and many more.
