Anyone know a Thai bank operating in Cambodia that will open an account in Thailand for us from here?

Tried a couple of the Thai banks today, but got blank looks.

Thanks...

Try CIMB bank.
I receive fee free transfers from CIMBThai into my CIMB Cambodian account.
(Although I do not have a Thai account myself)
Get a CIMB preferred account: nice complimentary lounge at Suvarnabhumi airport.
Worth a try.

Thanks, tried it today.

We are an NGO, and they don't let foreign NGOs open accounts in Thailand (only individuals (with $50,000 to deposit).

Unless the NGO is registered in Thailand the Thai banks won't open an account for you, irrespective of how much you have. Individual accounts yes as stated above, but company or NGOs that are not registered is a no, unless you want your cash to hold in escrow or trust for on your behalf by a legal firm, company or a "sister" NGO.

Regards,

Tom

Thankyou for that, Tom - not the answer I was hoping for, but it does sound like you know what you're talking about.

We want Thailand because PayPal can link to Thai bank accounts (for donations) but not to Cambodian bank accounts.

I'll try & think of some other route.

Thanks again.
