Hey All

Moving to Phnom Penh after xmas and i was wondering in general what type of social life exists over there ? From looking over the post it seems that there is quite a small expat group living there.

I have been there a few times.. but as a traveller so i am sure that it is a very different scene.

Another " girly " question ...sorry but in terms of clothing because I am taller then the average Khmer women and my preportions would be western so is it a problem to find decent clothes/ underwear ect ? Would I need to bring a stockpile with me ?.

Really looking foward to a response or two

Thanks !

Dear Jeeng-Jok,
The expat life here is anything but small Laughing out loud . Unless you are a very weird and unsocial person, you will need 10 nights in the week and four day weekends to fit everything in. Depending on what specific circles you move in, I guess PP can be small ( i.e; of you are a Teacher / NGO / etc and only hang out in those circles ) HOWEVER if you are outgoing and have stamina, you will probably find that soon enough you will have more friends than you will know what to do with and you won't be recruiting any more. Basically....the place rocks.

I will ask a friend of mine who is also vertically challenged to answer your ?? about females clothes BUT remember ( apart from undies ), you can have beautiful stuff custom made here for a fraction of what it will cost you back home and your wardrobe will / can be brimming with something for every occasion.

Get excited because living here is way better than visiting Wink

hi LGL, moved this one into the girly forums.

I can throw it back in the opub if you really want it at the bar.

Here is a link for fashion in Phnom Pemh

Ambre
Located in the heart of Phnom Penh in an exquisitely refurbished colonial mansion, Ambre is an ideal venue for the challenge of offering Cambodian and expatriate clientele a place to find unique garment creations.

Ambre features the designs of international designer Romyda Keth. Ambre has been joined by two more boutiques, one in Raffles Hotel le Royal and the other at the Grand Hotel d'Angkor. Visitors will find a unique environment of tailor-made color-themed pieces.

The patterns of Romyda Keth are characterized by an undeniably feminine style, coloring that is a harmonious blend of shades, elegance without sacrifice of detail, garments that fit the curves and highlight the figure, and materials that are both versatile and of high quality.
