Canadia does pretty good, although I hate them for customer service & their debit card fee, their basic interest rate is 0.75% for USD. But term deposit rates go up to 4.75% for 12 months.

ABA: Standard 'Savings Account': 0.75%, but get a 'Flexible Deposit' alongside it with a minimum balance of $100 you get 3.25% p.a. Can then use your ABA Debit card (Visa or Master-$7 one time fee) to transfer between the accounts or do it via the online banking facility. They also offer 5.5% for a 'Fixed Deposit' for 12 months.

Personally I save in a passbook savings account at Amret who give 4.25% on the savings account and for term deposit I mix it up a bit at micro-finance places: Amret: 7.25% USD/ 10% KHR. Prascac: 8% USD and AMK 10.5% KHR (All 1 year terms)

And why not buy some gold with CIMB just to spread it around a little.

What ever you do keep clear of Mr.Men Tomato Bank.

Thanks for the info cccambodia. I have had quite a bit of cash for some time with ABA passbook at 4% last time I looked and never any problems. Was thinking about putting that money into a their term deposit. I bring a fair amount of cash back from Oz everytime I return and just thought I would spread it around a bit more....you never know yeah..
Those micro finance places have got very good rates, how secure are they...obviously nothing is 100% secure here or anywhere, but these rates do seem exceptionally good.. Rob
