From/To Sihanoukville

In Sihanouk Ville, taxis can be found opposite the market (Phsar Leu) and at the downtown bus and taxi station. In Kampot, taxis can be found at the taxi stand. 12,000-14,000R/person or $20 for a private taxi ($25 for good a/c). This will take you about 1 ½ to 2 hours from Sihanoukville. Travel north on Route #4 to Veal Renh (43km). Turn east on Route #3 to Kampot. Route #4 is paved. Route #3 to Kampot is mixed paved and in good condition. It is 110Km between Kampot and Sihanoukville.

From/To Phnom Penh

The route #3 between Phnom Penh is paved and fairly good. It is a nicer ride that the alternative route, route #2 to route #3 via Takeo

There are three buss companies offering regular schedule buses, with air conditioning, from Phnom Penh. In Kampot all the busses arrive and depart from the bus stand south of the central traffic circle.

You can buy tickets at the bus stand or from you guesthouse or hotel. It takes about 4 hours by bus.

Phnom Penh Sorya Transport bus schedule:

Phnom Penh to Kampot : 7:30AM, 1:15PM
SHV to Kampot : 7:30AM, 12:30PM
Stations: Phnom Penh: On Charles de Gaulle, next to the Central Market.
Kampot office: Bus Station

Taxis can be hired for about 13000 to 15000 riel per person for a shared taxi, or you can hire a private car for 20 to 30 dollars. Taxis can be found at Phsar Dumkor in Phnom Penh and it will take 2 to 3 hours to get there.
