NOCC Signs Partnership With Cambodia Dream For Phnom Penh International Half Marathon

The National Olympic committee of Cambodia on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan based Cambodia Dream Co Ltd as co-partners to the Phnom Penh International Half Marathon.

The partnership which is aimed at enhancing and pursuing more cordial relationship and also for the development of the Olympic movement and support for talented athletes gives the rights to Cambodia Dream as the sole partner of the Phnom Penh International Half Marathon. This was made known during a joint press conference held at the NOCC Secretariat.

"Each Party is responsible for the athletes of their “home” country for notice and publicity of the marathon in its “away” country through the event information, hand outs to the athletes, the media and online information, and also they are responsible for attracting the athletes to participate to marathon in “away” country through their mutual activity" NOCC Secretary General Mr. Vath Chamroeun stated while explaining the terms of agreement.

Mr. Vath Chamroeun signed on behalf of NOCC while Ms Yuko Watanabe and Neko Hiroshi signed on behalf of Cambodia Dream.

The Inaugural Phnom Penh International Half marathon was held In June to commemorate the 118th Olympic day run and the NOCC intends to make it an annual event.

The NOCC Secretary General also announced to the media present that the 1st Sihanoukville Half Marathon will be held in March 2012 thus bringing to three half marathon in the calender for the Kingdom annually. The Angkor Wat International Half marathon which saw the 16th Edition held, December 4th is held annually in partnership with the Heart of Gold Organization also based in Japan.
