Certainly, the appeal of Southeast Asia as a destination for couples and honeymooners has grown considerably over recent years, with its assortment of secluded hideaways and pristine natural scenery. A Mintel report in 2006 found 14% of the total number of British weddings took place overseas with a strong growth in the Asian region. Moreover, a Japanese Tourism Board report quoted Bali as the third most popular destination for Japanese weddings with many high-end resorts boasting adjoining chapels.
