Following the success of the first Comedy Club Asia in Cambodia on Tuesday the 6th of December. The show, which is the brainchilds of multilingual Aussie comedian Jonathan Atherton will be returning to the kingdom of wonder on the of the 16th of January, with a new set of international stand ups to tickle our collective fancies.

So who do we have to look forward to?

First up, Jimmy McGhie is an affable London comic who studied drama at Kent university, and began stand-up regularly in 2005 after reaching the finals of the BBC New Talent competition and the Amused Moose Star Search. He performed in split-bill stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and 2008, and made his solo debut in 2009 with Jimmy McGhie’s Northern Meeting. His performance is an intricate blend of wry social observation and chirpy smut.

Co-headlining will be Phil Nichol, a Canadian comedian of longstanding reputation, with a penchant for the surreal. He is a former member of comedy band Corky and the Juice Pigs (hunt down there song ‘Eskimo’, a harrowing tale of the trials of being the only homosexual in an Inuit tribe). This Summer, he is filming 'Holy Flying Circus' - a BBC drama about the censorship of Monty Python's Life Of Brian - in which he will be playing Terry Gilliam, alongside Rufus Hound and Steve Punt.

A late addition to the bill is acerbic Aussie standup Brednon Burns. Although he hails from Australia, Burns is better known in the UK, first coming to wide attention alongside Sacha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais on Channel 4's late-night spontaneous comedy show The Eleven O'Clock Show.
He has subsequently appeared as a presenter on the ITV show I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! Burns won the IF.comedy award for So I Suppose This Is Offensive Now at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, showcasing his typical aggressive confrontational style.

The second Comedy Club Asia in Cambodia gig will be at Pontoon Club (Street 172) on Monday, January 16th. Doors open at 7pm with tickets costing US$10 (including one free Tiger beer). Be there or be an equilateral rectangle.
