Vote for Cambodia Now to Win the Nike-Changemakers Sport for a Better World Competition!
The Cambodian National Volleyball League Disabled (CNVLD) has been selected as one of 16 finalists in the Nike - Changemakers Sport for A Better World Competition; a global contest to identify the most innovative sporting projects bringing about social change.
The CNVLD is only Cambodian and Asian finalist out of 382 entries from 69 countries. The CNVLD is also the only finalist working with athletes with a disability, the majority of who are survivors of the landmine.
At the recent 2007 WOVD Cambodia Standing Volleyball World Cup, the Cambodian National Team won Bronze and now holds the position of World #3. They will aim to reach World #1 at the 2008 WOVD Volleyball World Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia. The CNVLD is also the only Cambodian recipient of a UN Best Practices Award for Sport and Development in 2006.
The winners of the competition will now be chosen by a process of online voting. Voting closes on 2 March 2008, so there is only a short time left to register your vote in support for Cambodia's most successful and inspirational athletes.
